Sponsorship, politics and social media — as excuse — the formula for disaster (Canapino and his participation in IndyCar)

Dear reader, here are three links to three articles I produced last year on Canapino’s participation in IndyCar. I really hope that the Argentinean could, at least, finish his 2024 IndyCar season. I believe this could be true due to terms signed in legal contracts that bind the Argentinean driver to Juncos Holliger Racing.

What is real is that this ending has been foreseen last year, as most (or all) Canapino’s sponsorship depended on the former Argentinean government’s goodwill (and interests and agreements). If Agustin could seat and be part of Juncos Hollinger Racing this year has been due the money from the sponsorship was dully deposited in the team’s funds before the National election. There has been very little or nothing from private investors.

We all know racing cars and car racing is a very expensive business. If you have money or you are a magnet to attract it, you are welcome; if not, you are given the politest brushing off.

Argentinean racing car lovers cares almost nothing about IndyCar and American industries and companies prefer to invest on most prestigious and local drivers (Newgarden and Ferruci are two great examples). Furthermore, most of Argentinean fans (here the term is rightly used) have a crush on T.C. So, the future that relates Argentina (and its dream to organize an non champion race at Termas de Rio Hondo- a senseless and very expensive race, luckily thumbed down) and IndyCar seems blurry.-
